GOOD TO KNOW
A few things, answered.
A little guidance for choosing, brewing and caring for the things you bring home.
How do I choose a tea?
Start with the flavors you already enjoy. Green teas often feel fresh and bright, oolongs range from floral to roasted, and black teas can be rounded and warming. Check each tea’s tasting notes and choose a smaller quantity when exploring.
Where can I learn how to brew tea?
Begin with the instructions supplied with your tea. Leaf quantity, water temperature and infusion time all shape the cup. Our guide walks you through everyday brewing and using a gaiwan.
Which teaware should I start with?
A roomy infuser, a small teapot or a glazed gaiwan gives leaves space to open. Consider capacity and how comfortably you can pour. A serving pitcher is useful when sharing several cups.
View more questionsView fewer questions
Can I infuse the leaves more than once?
Many whole-leaf teas allow several infusions. Pour the brewed tea away from the leaves between infusions and adjust the time to taste. The number of enjoyable cups varies with the tea and your brewing method.
How should I store loose tea?
Keep tea sealed, dry and away from sunlight, heat and strong aromas. Follow any storage guidance on the product, especially for aged or compressed teas. Let chilled packages reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation.
How should I care for my teaware?
Check the material and care guidance on each product. Rinse after use and allow pieces to dry fully. Avoid sudden temperature changes; hand-wash delicate ceramics and bamboo tools. Unglazed clay may need different care from glazed porcelain or glass.
Where can I find delivery and return details?
Delivery availability, costs and timing depend on your destination. Please read our current shipping and refund policies before ordering, or contact us if you need help choosing.
Can you help me choose a gift or a matching set?
Tell us which teas you enjoy, how many people you brew for and your preferred vessel size. We can help you compare the product details and choose pieces that suit your ritual.
