Tea Accessories: Solid Wood Tea Scoop 4-Piece Gift Set

The ovanyu Solid Wood Tea Scoop Gift Set pairs four essential tea table tools with the material that suits each one: solid hardwood, shaped by hand, finished to bring out the natural grain. The set centers on a broad, paddle-shaped tea scoop designed for presentation as much as function — wide enough to display a full measure of leaves before they enter the teapot, and balanced enough to handle comfortably. Alongside it, a narrower tea pick, a pair of cup tongs, and a compact tea rest complete the four-piece collection. Available in three wood species — walnut, ebony, and bubinga — each with its own distinct tone and grain character.

• Three Distinctive Wood Species — Walnut offers a warm, chocolate-brown tone with fine, flowing grain. Ebony brings a near-black depth and exceptional density. Bubinga presents a rich reddish-brown with a pronounced, often figured grain that makes each piece visually unique. All three are solid hardwoods shaped and finished by hand.
• Wide-Body Tea Scoop for Presentation — At 17.7 × 6.5 cm, the tea scoop (cházé) is notably wider than a standard scoop, giving it a platform quality — ideal for displaying the dry leaf before brewing, whether for personal appreciation or when sharing tea with guests.
• Tassel Cord Detail — Both the tea scoop and tea pick are fitted with a knotted cord and silk tassel — a traditional East Asian decorative accent that adds a refined, ceremonial quality to the tools without affecting their function.
• Handcraft Quality — Each piece in the set is shaped using traditional handcraft techniques. The resulting surfaces are smooth without being uniform — they carry the subtle irregularity of hand-worked wood rather than the clinical finish of machine-produced tools.
• A Considered Gift Set — Four tools, three wood choices, and traditional decorative details make this a set that communicates genuine care — suitable as a gift for someone new to gongfu tea or someone with an established practice who appreciates quality materials.

• Material options: Walnut, Ebony, Bubinga
• Set Includes (4 pieces + 1 rest):
  • Tea Scoop / Cházé — 17.7 cm (L) × 6.5 cm (W), with tassel cord
  • Tea Pick / Chásháo — 16.5 cm (L) × 3.8 cm (W), with tassel cord
  • Cup Tongs / Bēi Jiā — 18 cm (L)
  • Cup Pick / Bēi Bō — 18.3 cm (L)
  • Tea Rest / Cházhěn — 7.5 cm (L) × 1.5 cm (W/H)
• Craft: Traditional handcraft
• Origin: Dehua, Fujian
• Care: Wipe dry after use; avoid soaking; condition with food-safe wood oil occasionally to maintain the natural finish

• Tea Scoop (Cházé): Use the wide paddle to measure and display dry loose-leaf tea from your caddy before transferring it to the teapot or gaiwan. The broad surface lets you observe and appreciate the leaf appearance before brewing.
• Tea Pick (Chásháo): Use the narrower pick to guide leaves from the scoop into the teapot opening, or to adjust leaf placement inside the pot between steepings.
• Cup Tongs: Lift and handle hot cups hygienically during rinsing or when presenting cups to guests.
• Cup Pick: Use to steady or reposition cups on the tray without direct hand contact.
• Tea Rest: Set the tea scoop or pick on the rest between uses to keep the tray surface clean and the tools organized.

Q: What are the visual differences between the three wood options?
A: Walnut has a warm medium-brown tone with smooth, flowing grain. Ebony is significantly darker — nearly black — with a very fine, tight grain and high natural density. Bubinga is reddish-brown with a more pronounced, often interlocked grain pattern that makes each piece visually distinct. All three are solid hardwood.

Q: Are the tassel cords functional or purely decorative?
A: Primarily decorative, in keeping with traditional East Asian tea accessory aesthetics. The cord can also be used to hang the scoop or pick from a display hook if preferred.

Q: How do I care for the wood over time?
A: Wipe each piece dry after use and avoid leaving them in standing water. Applying a food-safe wood oil a few times a year will help maintain the depth of color and smoothness of all three wood types.

Q: Is this set suitable as a gift?
A: Yes. The four matched pieces, tassel cord details, and choice of three premium wood species make this a gift that reflects genuine consideration — appropriate for both tea beginners and experienced practitioners.
