The Most Immersive Aroma in the Jasmine Collection · Dual-Flower Scenting: Jasmine + Gardenia Champaca · Baked Green Tea Base

The Pearl That Holds the Whole Garden.

In Heng County (Hengxian), Guangxi — where the world’s most prized jasmine blossoms are harvested in the summer heat, some families still roll tea by hand in the old way: one bud, one leaf, one motion, pressed into a perfect sphere. This is Bailongzhu — White Dragon Pearl.

ovanyu’s 2026 Special Grade White Dragon Pearl begins with the finest spring buds from a traditional hōngqĭng (baked green tea) base — a processing style long favored in Guangxi for its warmth and its exceptional capacity to absorb floral fragrance. Each bud is hand-rolled into a tight, downy white pearl, then surrendered to the jasmine and Michelia alba (white champaca / báilán huā) in multiple rounds of traditional scenting. When the pearls have absorbed all they can hold, they are sealed and rested — the fragrance locked inside, ready to unfurl at the touch of hot water.

Drop one pearl into a glass. Watch it open. Inhale before you sip. This is what 2026’s Hengxian harvest smells like at its most concentrated.

Why White Dragon Pearl Stands Apart
  • The Most Immersive Aroma in the Jasmine Collection — Because the fragrance is sealed inside each rolled pearl rather than coating the outer surface, White Dragon Pearl releases its jasmine-champaca scent progressively as the pearl opens in hot water — a slow, blooming aroma reveal unlike any flat-leaf or twisted-form jasmine tea.
  • Dual-Flower Scenting: Jasmine + Gardenia Champaca (Michelia alba) — Each batch is scented with both fresh Jasminum sambac and fresh Michelia alba blossoms in the traditional Guangxi style. The champaca adds a creamy, magnolia-inflected warmth that deepens jasmine’s sweetness into something richer and more complex.
  • Baked Green Tea Base (Hōngqĭng) for Maximum Fragrance Uptake — The traditional hōngqĭng process produces a tea that is structurally more open and absorbent than steamed-leaf styles, drawing in fragrance more deeply during scenting. The result: a fuller, warmer cup where the floral aroma is integrated into the tea itself, not just layered on top.
  • Hand-Rolled Whole-Bud Pearls, Special Grade — Only intact spring buds make the cut. Each pearl is formed by hand, producing a compact, uniform sphere with a distinctively silky surface. The whole-bud construction delivers a clean, sweet, concentrated liquor with exceptional clarity.
  • Visually Striking Brewing Ritual — The pearls are best brewed in a tall glass or clear teapot: watch each pearl slowly unravel, releasing a swirl of pale liquor and rising fragrance. The ceremony is part of the experience — and a conversation piece every time.
What’s Inside the Pouch
  • Tea base: Traditional baked green tea (hōngqĭng lǜ chá), hand-rolled whole buds, Guangxi Province, China
  • Scenting flowers: Fresh jasmine blossoms (Jasminum sambac) + fresh gardenia champaca blossoms (Michelia alba / báilán huā), Heng County, Guangxi
  • Scenting method: Traditional multi-round zhonghua layering, fragrance sealed inside rolled pearl form
  • Grade: Special Grade
  • Harvest season: Spring 2026
  • Net weight: 125g
  • No additives, no artificial flavoring
☕ Hot Brew (Recommended — Best in Glass)
  • Water temperature: 185–195°F (85–90°C)
  • Amount: 4–6 pearls per 150–200ml (approximately 3–5g)
  • Steep time: 60–90 seconds for the first steep; add 20–30 seconds for each subsequent infusion
  • Yields: 3–5 infusions per session
  • Best vessel: Tall clear glass or glass teapot — allows you to watch the pearls open and the liquor bloom; gaiwan or porcelain teapot also excellent for pure flavor
  • Pro tip: Place the pearls in a dry, pre-warmed vessel before adding water — then pause and inhale the dry fragrance before brewing. It’s extraordinary.
🧊 Cold Brew (Floral, Sweet, and Crystal-Clear)
  • Amount: 8–10 pearls per 600ml of cold filtered water
  • Time: Refrigerate for 10–14 hours (overnight strongly recommended — the pearls need time to fully open)
  • Result: A pale gold, luminously clear cold brew with a full jasmine-champaca fragrance and a naturally sweet, creamy finish — no bitterness, no astringency
Q: How is White Dragon Pearl different from other rolled jasmine teas like Dragon Pearl or Jasmine Pearls?

A: Most “jasmine pearl” teas on the market use a combination of leaves and buds, a steamed-leaf base, and standard jasmine-only scenting. White Dragon Pearl (Bailongzhu) uses whole buds only, a baked green tea (hōngqĭng) base for deeper fragrance uptake, and dual-flower scenting with both jasmine and Michelia alba (white champaca). The rolled pearl form also seals the fragrance inside the tea rather than leaving it on the surface — which means the aroma releases progressively during brewing rather than fading quickly.

(báilán huā) add to the flavor?

A: Michelia alba blossoms have a creamy, warm, magnolia-like fragrance — slightly richer and less sharp than pure jasmine. When used alongside jasmine in scenting, it softens the floral edge and adds a rounded, almost buttery depth to the aroma and finish. It’s a traditional Guangxi technique, not a modern additive or flavoring.

Q: How many pearls per serving?

A: We recommend 4–6 pearls per 150–200ml of water for hot brewing, or 8–10 pearls per 600ml for cold brew. Adjust to taste — more pearls produce a more intensely floral cup.

Q: How many steepings can I get?

A: Typically 3–5 quality infusions. The aroma is most intense on the first and second steep, then evolves into a gentler, sweeter register by the third and fourth.

Q: Is this tea caffeinated?

A: Yes. As a green tea base, White Dragon Pearl contains moderate natural caffeine — comparable to other premium green teas, and generally lower than coffee.

Q: Is it suitable as a gift?

A: Exceptionally so. The pearl form, dual-flower story, and immersive brewing ritual make White Dragon Pearl ovanyu’s most visually and experientially distinctive tea — a standout gift for tea lovers, hosts, or anyone who appreciates craft and ceremony in equal measure.
