A Single Golden Bud. A Thousand Layers of Jasmine.

In Hengxian County, Guangxi — the jasmine capital of China, supplying over 80% of the nation’s jasmine blossoms — ovanyu’s Little Golden Needle Jasmine Tea (Xiao Jin Zhen) is crafted with singular intention. Each piece is a single, full tea bud, plucked in early spring at its most tender, then pressed into a slender needle shape before being layered with wave after wave of fresh jasmine blossoms in the traditional zhonghua scenting method.

The result is a tea that looks as striking as it tastes: glinting gold in the pouch, unfurling to a luminous amber in the cup, and releasing an aroma so rich and full it fills the room before the first sip.

Our 2026 harvest is a standout — an exceptionally fragrant expression of what Hengxian’s peak-season jasmine can do when paired with carefully selected whole-bud tea.

Why Little Golden Needle Stands Apart
  • Exceptionally Rich, Layered Jasmine Fragrance — Scented 6–8 times with freshly picked Hengxian Jasminum sambac, the aroma is deep, full-bodied, and enduring — far more concentrated than standard jasmine green teas.
  • Whole Single-Bud Construction — Every needle is one intact tea bud, hand-shaped before scenting. This uniform, high-grade form delivers consistent flavor, clean clarity, and an elegant visual presentation in the cup.
  • Warm Amber Liquor, Velvety Texture — The infusion pours a rich golden amber — rounder and fuller-bodied than jasmine green, with a soft sweetness on the finish and no trace of bitterness or astringency.
  • 2026 Special Grade Harvest — Sourced from spring’s first picking in Hengxian, when jasmine blossoms are at peak fragrance intensity and tea buds are at their most concentrated. A rare grade in both raw material and craftsmanship.
  • Multi-Steep Performance — Each serving yields 4–6 full-flavor infusions. The fragrance evolves and deepens across steepings, making every session a small ceremony.

Q: What is “Little Golden Needle” and how does it differ from other jasmine teas?

A: Little Golden Needle (Xiao Jin Zhen) is a premium-format jasmine tea made from individual whole tea buds pressed into needle shapes — no leaves, no stems. Unlike most jasmine teas that use green leaf, the full-bud construction creates a richer, denser infusion with a naturally warm amber color and a more concentrated, rounder flavor. It’s also visually distinctive: the needles stand upright in the cup as they steep.

Q: How many steepings can I get?

A: Typically 4–6 quality infusions per serving. The aroma often peaks on the second or third steep as the bud fully opens, then softens into a gentle, sweet finish by the final cup.

Q: Is this tea caffeinated?

A: Yes. As a full-bud tea base, Little Golden Needle contains moderate natural caffeine — similar to other premium green and white teas, and generally milder than coffee.

Q: How should I store it?

A: Store in an airtight container away from light, heat, and strong odors. Refrigeration is not necessary but extends shelf life. Best consumed within 12 months of opening for peak aroma.

Q: Does it contain artificial jasmine flavoring?

A: None whatsoever. Every batch is scented exclusively through traditional fresh-blossom layering — no essential oils, no flavor extracts, no synthetic fragrance of any kind.

Q: Is it suitable as a gift?

A: Exceptionally so. The golden needles, premium grade, and signature rich aroma make Little Golden Needle one of ovanyu’s most striking gift teas — a natural choice for tea enthusiasts, corporate gifting, or any occasion that calls for something genuinely refined.
