Tea Accessories: Absorbent Tea Cloth

The ovanyu Absorbent Tea Cloth is a thickened cotton-linen blend cloth designed for the practical work of the tea table: wiping the base of a teapot, blotting the rim of a cup, mopping a tray surface between rounds. It is woven with a fine jacquard dot pattern across the full surface — a quiet texture that gives it a finished, considered appearance rather than the look of a plain utility cloth. Available in four muted colorways — khaki, grey, blue, and green — each folded and bound with a paper band for a clean, gift-ready presentation. At 27.5 × 15.5 cm, it is sized to work comfortably in one hand without being unwieldy on a compact tea tray.

• Teapot base: Place the cloth on the tray and set the teapot on it between steepings to catch drips from the base and spout without marking the tray surface.
• Wiping cups: Fold to a pad and wipe the exterior of rinsed cups dry before serving.
• Tray surface: Use the cloth to wipe down the tray surface at the end of a session, absorbing residual water and tea before putting away.
• Teapot care: Use a dampened cloth to wipe the exterior of a clay teapot during and after a session to help the surface develop its natural patina evenly over time.

Q: Will the colors bleed or fade after washing?
A: Wash in cold water on the first use to set the color. Some minor fading is normal with repeated washing over time, as with all natural-fiber dyed textiles. The muted colorways are chosen to age gracefully.

Q: How many cloths come in one order?
A: One cloth per order. If you would like multiple colors, each can be added to the cart individually.

Q: Is this cloth safe to use on glazed ceramic and clay teapots?
A: Yes. The cotton-linen weave is soft enough for use on glazed porcelain, stoneware, and unglazed clay surfaces without scratching.

Q: How often should the cloth be washed?
A: Rinse after each session and wash as needed — frequency depends on use. A cloth used primarily for wiping dry surfaces may need washing less often than one used to wipe wet teapot bases after every pour.

   Free shipping on orders of $59 or more; a $15 shipping fee applies to orders under $59. Subscription items ship for free.

We offer a 14-day return policy, meaning you can request a return within 14days of receiving your item.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it: unworn or unused, with tags attached, and in its original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
For returns due to personal reasons (non-quality issues), the buyer is responsible for shipping costs; for returns due to quality issues, the seller covers the shipping costs.

If your return is accepted, we will send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as perishable goods (like food, flowers, or plants), custom products (like special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (like beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about a specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. EU 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Notwithstanding the above, if the goods are being shipped to the EU, you have the right to cancel your order or return the items within 14 days without providing a reason. As previously stated, returned items must be in the same condition as when you received them—unworn or unused, with tags intact, and in their original packaging. You will also need to provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether your refund request has been approved. If approved, the refund will be automatically issued to your original payment method; funds typically appear in your account within 10 business days.
We will issue a full refund if the return is due to an issue on the seller's part; however, if the return is for personal reasons, the buyer is responsible for shipping costs and a 5% transaction processing fee.

Please note that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
