Vivid Amber-Gold Dry Leaf · Golden Liquor with Exceptional Clarity · Honey-Sweet Fragrance with Floral Depth

Product details

Golden Bud No. 06 begins with the leaf. Set a few grams into a clear glass and the dry buds catch light like hammered gold — each one uniform in size, covered in the fine silver-white down that marks a single, unopened spring bud at its ideal picking moment. This is not decorative. It is the direct consequence of a picking standard that accepts nothing but the terminal bud, and a processing approach calibrated to maintain the pigment that the plant spent the season developing.

No. 06 occupies a slightly different register from No. 08: where No. 08 leans into a delicate floral refinement, No. 06 is fuller in body and richer in its honey-sweet character — the same golden leaf, a more rounded expression. For those who want the visual drama of the golden bud with a little more weight in the cup.

  • Vivid Amber-Gold Dry Leaf — Dense, uniform golden buds with a pronounced silver down — the visual signature of high-grade single-bud picking. The dry leaf in a clear vessel is as considered a presentation as the brewed cup itself.
  • Golden Liquor with Exceptional Clarity — The brewed cup pours a warm, luminous amber-gold with no cloudiness or particulate. The color deepens slightly compared to No. 08, reflecting the fuller extraction of this grade's natural pigments.
  • Honey-Sweet Fragrance with Floral Depth — A warmer, more enveloping aroma than No. 08: the floral opening gives way quickly to a richer honey-like sweetness that fills the cup and persists as the tea cools. Approachable and immediately pleasing.
  • Round Body, Lingering Sweetness — Medium body with a smooth, slightly velvety texture. The natural sweetness builds across the first two steeps and settles into a clean, warm finish with a gentle hui gan that is notably longer than lighter golden bud expressions.
  • Single-Bud Standard, High-Altitude Origin — Only the unopened terminal bud is taken — no leaf, no compromise. High-altitude cultivation slows growth and concentrates both the golden pigmentation and the aromatic compounds that distinguish this grade from lower-elevation material.

Ingredients
100% single-origin golden bud green tea (Camellia sinensis), high-altitude garden, China. Single-bud picking, minimal processing. No additives, no blending, no artificial coloring or flavoring. Net weight: 125g.

FAQ

Q: How does Golden Bud No. 06 differ from No. 08?
A: Both teas come from the same single-bud picking standard and high-altitude origin. No. 06 has a fuller body, a richer honey-sweet fragrance, and a deeper amber liquor color. No. 08 is more delicate and floral, with a lighter body and a more refined, understated character. If you prefer more presence in the cup, No. 06 is the choice. If you prefer precision and lightness, No. 08.

Q: Is the golden color natural?
A: Entirely. The amber-gold hue of the dry leaf comes from the natural pigmentation of the young bud at peak development — specifically the concentration of theaflavins and carotenoids present in single-bud material at this growth stage. The silvery down is the bud's natural trichome layer. No artificial coloring is used at any point in production.

Q: Why does golden bud tea look so different from standard green teas?
A: Standard green teas use one bud plus one or two leaves. The older leaf material is green and flat. A tea made only from unopened buds retains the full downy covering and pigment that the plant produces before the bud opens — which is why it looks categorically different from a rolled or flat-leaf green tea.

Q: How many servings does 125g provide?
A: At 3–4g per session with 2–3 infusions each, 125g yields approximately 30–40 brewing sessions. Single-bud teas yield fewer infusions than leaf-inclusive grades, so we account for that in this estimate.

Q: How should I store it?
A: Airtight container, away from heat, light, and strong odors. The fine downy surface of golden bud tea absorbs moisture and odors more readily than denser leaf grades — proper sealing is especially important. Refrigerate for storage beyond two weeks in a fully sealed container, and bring to room temperature before opening.
